Back On The River Again :)

Roy & I had a fantastic time on the River with Sally & Lynn.  We left The Clayton Yacht Club on Sunday to do some cruising around The 1,000 Islands.  It was great to go to some of our favorite places by boat again.  We went to The 1,000 Island Club (another Club where Roy & I kept our boat) for dinner and to spend the night aboard Sally & Lynns boat, "Our Gal Sal".  Monday we went cruising again and spent most of the day on the River - mostly on the boat, but some of the time in the River which was really cold!  The St. Lawrence River never gets warm - at least in my personal opinion, it never warms up - others may disagree but any body of water that is colder than 70* is cold to me.....
I am still baffled why the pictures on my blog sometime appear out of order, and other times they show up just the way I want (and expect) them to.  Sorry about the way some of the following photos seemed mixed up.

Meeting up with The St. Lawrence Crusie Line.

The Devil's Oven, an Island I thought would be fun and affordable to own
some 35 years ago before I saw it on a postcard and learned of it's historical past.  LOL

A distant view of Boldt Castle on Heart Island in The St. Lawrence River.

Meeting a ship on the St. Lawrence Seaway.

If you read the numbers on the very front of the ship,
you can see how deep the ship is into the water.

The Island "Just Big Enough"
also know as "The Mother-in-Law Island".

Boldt Castle on Heart Island.
The structure in the front was to be the daughter Clover's playhouse!

The Pump House at Boldt Castle.

The bridge between these two islands is the smallest International Bridge in the world.
The larger island is in Canadian waters and the smaller island is in American waters.

Tom Thumb Island.  It fits the"Island" requirement of the one tree,
more than 1 square foot of land and it remains above water all year long.

Boldt's Castle's boathouse on the mainland.

A beautiful antique boat parked at The 1,000 Island Club.

The view we had from our slip
when we kept out boat at The 1,000 Island Club.

Out to dinner with Sally & Lynn at Joey's at The 1,000 Island Club.

Does it really look like Sally, Lynn & I are trying to pull the boat?

Roy & I standing alongside our old boat acting like we still own it. LOL
